So I moved house, worked very hard at that and finally allowed myself to go for a run which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Came home, ate lunch and went down with The Mother Of All Migraines.
The Migraine To End All Migraines.
The Migraine So Migrainy that if it went to The Best Migraine Contest it wouldn’t even get a mention, but just because the judges would all be feeling queasy, hollow, and as if they’d just been beaten up after a steamroller’s had its wicked way with them.
In case you hadn’t guessed, my first run after the house move coincided with some major sickness. I got sent home from work and didn’t feel like myself for three whole days, so much so that I nearly panicked over permanent damage.
Luckily, good old Brick-Shit House me bounced back without any permanent damage. I knew the training schedule was going to be affected by my upcoming trip to Italy so it didn’t even feel bad about the missed runs.
Every time I have been out recently I have always been fast and consistently so, at least by my standard. When I am not concentrating, anything under 11′/mi is good enough, as long as it’s consistent. I am doing much better than that and it never feels like I am peaking too soon.
It’s good, and with the big day six months away, it bodes well.
Mum and I went to Venice today and we took a leisurely stroll down the last mile or so of the Marathon course.
Venice is always one of the most beautiful places in the world, and I feel both honoured and excited to be able to run there.
Roll on Oct 28th!
Ye gads woman, you’re an addict! Warm honey water/ fresh fruit helps with those headaches cuz they’re usually caused by decreased blood sugar (and decreased oxygenation to the brain). Sucrose helps with that but its better to get it from fruit than Mountain Dew/ Gatorate etc so you don’t overload on fructose (your body can’t actually use fructose) and chemicals.
Thanks for the advice, it’s great!
I am indeed a running addict, and I obsess in the same way when I am crafting – I just have to keep going until it’s done and it’s perfect.
Then again I watched my Mum look after her huge garden last week, and as the saying goes, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree
